Dustin Rhodes began his study of martial arts at the age of 12 with the East Lyme Judo club and spent several years practicing Judo (in which he currently holds a brown belt) and Japanese jiu-jitsu before finding Brazilian jiu-jitsu(BJJ) and Mixed Martial Arts(MMA).
Dustin began training BJJ in 2002 under Royce Gracie and eventually began training at Tim Burrill Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. He currently holds a Black belt in BJJ under Tim Burrill. Dustin has also had his BJJ Black Belt Certified with both the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation and the Unitied States Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation.
Over the last 11 years Dustin has had the opportunity to train with some of Brazilian jiu-jitsu’s most talented and respected practitioners including Royce Gracie, Rodrigo Gracie, Royler Gracie, Renzo Gracie, Fabio Gurgel and Carlos Machado. While Dustin has been practicing Brazilian Jiu-jitsu for over 11 years he is also an experienced instructor and has been teaching jiu-jitsu for over 7 years.
