James Cook

James brings over 8 years of high-level grappling experience to his role as Head Wrestling Instructor and Children’s Coach at Crossroads.  As decorated high-school wrestler and coach (All-Conference ECC, Nutmeg Games RU x2, alma-mater [Groton/Fitch] assistant coach 2 yrs) and all-around martial artist, James brings an unbeatable combination of fitness, enthusiasm, coaching, and technicality to his classes.  Always willing to test his skill, James has performed exceptionally in grappling competitions, winning numerous NAGA championships in both gi (blue belt) and no-gi (intermediate, advanced) as well as a host of other New England tournaments.  A true student of the physical arts, James is finishing his bachelors in kinesiology and physical education this year, and looks forward to a career teaching the next generation of grapplers for years to come. In his spare time, he loves playing any and all sports, 4-wheeling in his Samurai and ocean kayaking.
