Dustin Rhodes BJJ Seminar at Gracie Farmington Valley
Crossroads Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Head instructor Dustin Rhodes will be teaching a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu seminar at Gracie Farmington Valley (www.graciefv.com) March 31, 2013. The seminar will be from 11am to 1pm. Gracie Farmington Valley is located in Simsbury Connecticut approximately 30 minutes Northwest of Hartford.
This seminar will cover angles and strategies to prevent the consolidation of side control. Your will learn how to “cheat” your opponents and training partners out of what they need to effectively pass your guard and consolidate the side control position. Learning this often overlooked aspect of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu will help you understand what to do when somebody has already gotten the jump on you and is working to pass.
Without being able to consolidate position your opponents won’t be able to start setting up submissions or be able to advance their position further. Using strategies based on leverage and efficient movement you will be able to more effectively replace guard and in many cases use your opponents pass attempt(momentum) to end up in the top position or leave themselves exposed for submissions.
Dustin is a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Black Belt and has been training BJJ for 11 years.
