Today in our Team Training class we continued working working Butterfly Guard, today working an overhook variation similar to what we covered in our No-Gi BJJ class on Tuesday night. Our main focus was moving our hips so that we can keep constant pressure on our training partner in order to break their poster and prevent them from improving their position. Once everybody in class understood the main concept of movement an angles we went on to discuss finishing the match with the Mir Lock an move named after Frank Mir, an High level UFC fighter. Going into what angles you need to maintain to lock down the submission and prevent people from escaping.
After the technique portion of the BJJ Team Training we went onto finish the class with Team Training Drills, helping our friends make sure they have all the details of the techniques we covered in class mastered by showing them any mistakes they are making. Another great class in the books!
