Tonight during BJJ Team Training we continued working from the top of side control. We went over over how to catch your training partner in a loop and then use pressure to force them into making a technical mistake. By allowing our training partner to start an escape and then trapping them in a bad position based on the angle of there torso allows us to either force our training partner onto their stomach which is a horrible position to be in in Jiu-Jitsu or, force them to return to a flat position where their arm is trapped in a bad position. In either of these scenarios we finished the position with the choke. Lots of technical details were discussed on where pressure needs to be applied to shut down your training partners Jiu-Jitsu techniques and how to ensure that they don’t improve their position.
