Today during our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Team Training class we continued working on our 3 points of pressure loop, this time starting from the turtle. By covering where and when to put pressure on different parts of our training partners body we can successfully keep the advantage during a match. Keeping the advantage and applying continuous pressure which forces our training partner to work extremely hard just to get to a decent position leads to them becoming frustrated and making a mistake. Once they make a mistake, either reaching or exposing their neck, we can be in position to take advantage and potentially apply a submission.
One of the other main points during todays class was making sure that we don’t rush when we are in a dominate position and we use that time to make sure our training partner understands that our position is dominant for a reason. By not rushing the position and making small adjustments within the position instead of just rushing onto the next thing we can cause even more fatigue. The more tired our training partner gets the easier it is for us to finish the fight.
