Tonight during our BJJ team training class we continued our work on the Knee Shield position from half guard. Tonight our focus was moving from a defense position where we are working to prevent the top player from passing our guard to an offense position where we can either sweep or submit. Today our primary focus was moving to two different positions where we can sweep. This is done by moving your self under the top player where it is easier to manipulate there balance and easier to gain the top position. In jiu-jitsu it is always one of our main goals to make techniques easier to apply and this is done by superior positioning.
By the end of Jiu-jitsu class we had two sweeps from two different positions that are all very closely connected to each other. This allows us to create a system of attacks, and forcing the top player to react.
