To be successful in any aspect of life you must first have a strong belief that what you are doing will work, if you do not believe that you will achieve that goal you will not even attempt it. This is why one of the most essential pieces of BJJ is drilling, drilling is the act of repeating a particular technique or series of techniques over and over again until you can execute each detail of that Jiu-Jitsu technique without thinking about it. In bjj if you think you will be late, and if you are late the time to execute the bjj technique will have past. The more we repeat a technique the more we will believe in our own ability to be successful in implementing it. This confidents will result in performing the technique at the right time and this will result in being more successful.
Last night at Crossroads BJJ we drilled a north-south armbar using a very common Kimora grip. This grip allows you to attack a large number of submissions giving you the ability to maintain a very offensive style of Jiu-Jitsu. Sometimes the best defense is a good offense, and if your Jiu-Jitsu training partner is always reacting to your stacks it will be impossible for them to mount thier own attacks.
If you would like to experience how Jiu-Jitsu can give you the confidence you need to not only defend yourself in a fight but also to live a happier and healthier life come down to Crossroads BJJ in New London County and try a few free classes. You will see first hand how all of our instructors and students are here to help you succeed.
