This past Saturday Carlos Machado traveled New England and put on a tour of Seminars at several Tim Burrill Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu locations. The attendees of the seminar ranged in rank from white belt to back and Carlos was able to provide everybody with some knew technical knowledge they could take home. At Crossroads Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Carlos put on a display of world class Jiu-Jitsu knowledge teaching well over the scheduled 3 hour seminar.
Carlos covered guard attack sequences and concepts teaching how to chain a several submissions together using proper body mechanics and an intelligent use of angles. Carlos then demonstrated how to attack chains of submissions and positional attacks together so your training partner will always be kept guessing. Beyond techniques Carlos was able to demonstrate and articulate concepts that students could apply to not just the martial arts techniques that Carlos taught that day but techniques that students are currently working on in their own games.
Mr. Machado also made sure that he also covered the defensive side of the Martial Art as well. Making sure everybody understood how to move into open space on the bottom so that they had an easier time being comfortable in the bad positions. This part of the seminar was especially useful to all of the white belts who attended the seminar, since when you are new to the Martial Art you tend to find yourself in the more defensive positions.
Carlos put on an amazing seminar and made sure he took the time to answer everybody’s questions and took the time to roll with several students after the seminar. If you missed this one make sure you don’t miss the next one. As always Crossroads Brazilian Jiu-jitsu looks to bring in the best including members of the Gracie Family, World Champions and legends in the art. Carlos Machado is a pioneer of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu in America, creating a line of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world Champions to long to list here and is sought out as an instructor by anybody looking to truly learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
